PICHULIK for Maison Mara

January 9, 2017

Maison Mara and Pichulik teamed up to create a collaborative collection of jewellery for mothers and daughters. A collection of jewellery that draws inspiration from their family heirlooms.

Instead of using beads as Pichulik always has, this time Katherine Mary Pichulik shaped rope and cast them in brass and then gold plated them to create the eight pieces that speak of having a history but are at the same time has a modern feeling.

“In keeping with the idea that jewellery is passed down from generation to generation, the collection’s leitmotiv is the knot, a symbol of security and longevity. A knot becomes tighter over time until it cannot be undone any more.” Says Kelly Withey.

The Pichulik For Maison Mara collection is available at Maison Mara at 5 Jarvis Street, Cape Town and online here.
