A Shoe for Every Occasion – the Espadrille

May 8, 2017

There’s no denying that we all live extremely busy lives, whether you a stay-at-home mom, a new student or a freelance creative we all spend our days running around from point A to point B.

I’m a sucker for anything that can make my day more comfortable when my head is spinning and I’ve forgotten to fill up for petrol and I’m already running 10 minutes late for a meeting. So what’s my go-to solution? A comfortable AND versatile pair of shoes obviously.

Usually I’m a white sneaker kind-of-gal but lately [it’s good to shake things up every now and then] I’ve opted for a pair of espadrilles to get me through the day. Why? Simple – dress em down, dress em up, they work either way. One doesn’t need to wear a summery dress to be able to pull off a pair of espadrilles. I pair mine with tailored trousers most the time and love it! They my go-anywhere shoe.

I’m itching to book a Mediterranean holiday this year and the first thing I’ll be packing [that’s if I do book one] will be my Espadril’s, no question about it. Think Grace Kelly in her rope-soled espadrilles in To Catch a Thief (1955) … just too chic.
