This Summer it’s out with the shorts and in with the pants! You might think I’m crazy to suggest wearing long pants in thirty degree weather but you’ll be surprised just have airy and Summery a pair of light weight denim/linen joggers or trousers can be.

As I get older I tend to fall in love and choose clothing that covers my legs or my cleavage. It’s not to say I’m ashamed of my body, quite the contrary, I love my body! It’s not that I’ve become conservative either, I love experimenting with new styles and pushing boundaries. It’s simply because I find a pair of trousers or joggers more elegant then a pair of denim shorts and what women doesn’t want to be elegant?

Don’t get me wrong, I still own about five pairs of denim shorts that I’ll wear to the beach and around the house, just not all the time like I used to. Especially not to my business meetings.

One of my current favourite places to shop for elegant yet trendy pieces of clothing is Witchery. Take these denim joggers for example, they light, comfortable and simple, the same goes for the denim shirt. Want a less casual look? Team the denim joggers with a lace cami and a pair of matching heels and you set for your business meeting or lunch with the ladies.

Nick Coutts for Mr Price Fashion

With less then two weeks to go till the next ELLE Rising Star is announced I thought it only appropriate to dedicate this look post to last years fabulous winner, Nick Coutts.

Nick Coutts released a capsule collection in collaboration with Mr Price just last month and his designs are flying off the shelves. A collection that is fresh with no fuss attached and a colour palate that has us dreaming of ice-cream and milk bottles, Nick still manages to honour a women’s figure with his perfectly tailored, body skimming designs. I only wish I had managed to get my hands on his black, mesh dress before it sold out.

Did you notice my shiny shoes? Let’s talk about these metallic sandals for a moment please… aren’t they funky as hell?! There’s a story that makes me smile attached to these shiny guys. Not only are they a.) comfy as anything, b.) a perfect Summer trend piece for your wardrobe and c.) made in South Africa but what really makes me smile is knowing that 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these genuine leather sandals will be donated to the MrP foundation programmes. It’s fashion with a conscience!

With the Nick Coutts line selling out fast nation wide and the introduction of the new genuine leather line of sandals I highly suggest making a stop at MrP this weekend…

Happy Friday Beauties,

Bleeker Street

August 14, 2014

Everyone always ask’s me “What’s your style” and I find it so hard to answer them. Thing is I don’t have a specific ‘style’ and maybe that’s a bad thing but to me it’s a good thing.

I dress according to my emotions when I wake up in the morning and as fashion evolves and moves on so does my style. Whether I’m in a preppy I’m-off-to-tea kinda outfit or a simple Scandinavian inspired outfit it’s still me, it’s my style. Every day I am inspired by things I see walking the streets, my travels, the internet, it all influences my style and my personality.

So no, I can’t define my style, last week I was boho-chic and this week I’m preppy… and I kinda like it that way…

Oh So Soho

August 11, 2014

I love shopping in Soho there’s something slightly unsettling for me whenever I pass 14th street in NYC. The sidewalks become overcrowded, taxi’s are continuously hooting and the smell of garbage fills the air.

Soho on the other hand is still busy but not overcrowded, the stores are smaller, the smell of cupcakes fills the air and your chances of stumbling upon a stylish boutique or cute cafe are high.

So on Saturday we did just that, strolled though Soho, stopped at a bakery and did a little shopping.

My big floppy hat from Witchery has been a life saver here in NY, I’m on the streets all day every day and the sun is pretty intense. It’s definitely a city where the hat-a-day policy applies.

Not only that, but teamed up with a pair of distressed denims and a monochrome look one cannot go wrong. Simple and understated yet chic, a perfect on-the-go kinda outfit.

p.s if you currently lusting over the latest Celine trapeze handbags but can’t afford one try Colette Hayman. (The one I have in the post below) It’s looks practically the same for a 50th of the price!
