My 10 day style diary with Glamour Magazine:
“Emma Jane Menteath, international model, travel and style enthusiast, and the face behind My Life In Pink. Her interest in fashion started while modelling around the world and her blog is a culmination of those experiences, from the catwalks in New York to the glossy pages of elite fashion magazines. “I have always loved dressing up,” says Emma. “As a kid I used to have a dress up box filled with party costumes and bits and pieces of my mom’s old clothing. It used to keep me entertained for hours!” Emma loves styling outfits that make her feel a certain way or express her emotions. Her blog has become a great means for her to share her creative ideas with people.”

but for thought
all is fleeting
the idea born,
if it has to be called a word,
Part two of my collaboration with Fossil and their Calling All Curious campaign. As you know we’ve teamed up with Fossil to create three individually curated posts focused around three distinct personalities while featuring my three favourite products from Fossil.
First up we had The Romantic, now we have The Intellectual. She’s constantly on the quest for accruing new knowledge, she was often given the title of “bookworm” as a child and was proud of it. Confident in her mastery of her chosen subjects she radiates self-confidence and has an aura of mystery.
It’s no wonder she opted for the Jacqueline leather watch. A flawless essential, putting a sophisticated spin on a ladylike classic.
There’s nothing quite like a pair of denims that fit you just right, a pair that accentuates in all the right places. Ladies you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Over the past two years I’ve developed such a love for denim that it’s pretty much become a part of my every day to day life. So why denim?
Denim has to be the easiest fashion item to play around with. Dress them up with pair of heels and add some statement jewellery, crisp white shirt and a pair of pumps for work and hey let’s not forget the ever so popular jeans and tee combo.
In celebration of denim and all things festive River Island, along with other international brands such as Calvin Klein, Jigsaw, Dune London and Tom Tailor to name a few, are handing out little red booklets loaded with vouchers which can be used REPEATEDLY until the 24th December at all standalone flagship stores. Your very own Festive Fashion Passport filled with amazing savings to keep you smiling this holiday session.
A good excuse to buy another pair of denims, because let’s be frank, one can never have too many pairs.
When it comes to beauty I’m useless, give my an eye liner and a make up brush and I’ll end up crying on my bathroom floor because I can’t get the look right and my uber is due to pick me up in 5min. Skincare on the other hand, well that’s my ball game.
It’s no secret that I used to suffer from severe acne a few years ago and ever since then I’ve been obsessed with skincare routines and keeping my body clean inside and out.
One of my top tips is to constantly change my face wash. As soon as my skin becomes too dependant on a certain product it stops working on my skin. Hence the fact I have more then three face washes at a time.
Through a lot, and I mean a lot, of trail and error I’ve found a couple of face washes that I simply adore. Here’s my current favs…
La Prairie Foam Cleanser
I generally have dry, sensitive skin but once every two weeks or so I have an oily skin day and La Prairie Foam Cleanser is an absolute life saver. It’s not a face wash I can use every day or my skin will dry out but it’s a great choice when I’ve been running around a dirty city like London or have heavy make-up to remove from a shoot.
Aesop Fabulous Face Cleanser
Who doesn’t love an Aesop product? I mean the smell alone is enough to hook you. This face wash is ideal for sensitive, dry or combination skin types such as myself. It cleanses the skin without stripping it of it’s natural oils.
Dr.Hauschka Soothing Cleansing Milk
My good morning face wash. It gently wakes me up in the morning with it’s almond oil smell. This cleansing milk can also be used as a pre face wash make-up remover but to be honest I feel like I need a stronger cleanse at night so I stick to using this baby morning only.
Eau Thermale Avène Gentle Milk Cleanser
A special shout out to the PR agency that sent me Eau Thermale Avène gentle milk cleanser to try out. I’m so hooked! If you suffer from dry, sensitive skin this is the product for you, it’s pretty cheap too and last’s 3-4 months. It’s a no rinse wash but I prefer to use it with water and follow up with the gentle toner which is alcohol free . It has added vitamin E which provides moisture and antioxidant protection.
Human + Kind Wash Off Facial Cleanser 3-in-1
Human Kind was another face wash sent to me from a PR agency that I fell in love with. I find that a lot of organic, plant based face washes don’t cleanse my skin fully but this product is the complete opposite. The first time I used it I got the fright of my life because my face turned red, I only then read the product info and saw that is was actually an enzyme exfoliate. Which means it dissolves the dead skin cells without any scrubbing, making it suitable for anyone with sensitive skin. It says you can use it every day but it’s a little too strong for me so I use it 3 times a week at night. If you close your eyes while using this product you’d think you in a spa with the tingling feeling on your skin and the most magical scent.
Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser
I saved my favourite face wash for last. I discovered Liz Earle back in 2012 when I took part of LFW. It’s been my absolute favourite since then but unfortunately it’s not available in many countries. This multi-award winning cleanser contains eucalyptus, cocoa butter and chamomile. It’s a two part cleanser, first cleansing then polishing, and works for every age and every skin type. Nothing has ever worked so effectively for such a long period of time on my skin as the cleanse and polish has. Highly, highly recommended! Price tag isn’t bad either.
What are your favourite washes? Do you always change up your facial routine like me? Love to hear your thoughts.
