A truly remarkable women once said “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance” and I couldn’t agree more.
Owning classic, simple pieces is a must for any women’s wardrobe. Such as the white button down shirt or a black leather jacket, but the number one classic item every women should own is a pair of perfectly fitted jeans.
Recently I have fallen in love with J Brands amazing jeans collection. They have every colour and style you can image. I found this pair at a sample sale in NY and literally wore them everyday during my fashion week castings.
For this look post I paired my JB denims with an oversized knit from Mango, things were starting to get a little chilly just before I left New York, and a pair of classic patent pumps and Audrey sunnies. Everyone was hiding in their apartments and it felt rather cinematic to be alone down on the piers having my morning flat white and croissant as the steam rose from the Manhattan skyline.

One of my favourite spots in New York City is the High Line in West Village. The High Line is a 1,6km linear park built on a part of the old New York Central Railroad. The first two phases have been completed and the third phase is expected to open later this year.
Yes it may be over ran by tourists on weekends but despite that I still find it a relaxing space. With little cafe’s set up it’s easy to grab yourself an ice coffee and sit under a tree with your book listening to the sound of people, kids laughing and the sound of trickling water. It’s urban gardens like these that make living in a bustling city bearable.
Enough about the High Line, more about the clothes right 😉 Well, Zara is currently having a sale and I went a little O.T.T. My outfit below is a full Zara look for under $100! How cute are these striped trousers?! Little tip when it comes to wearing striped pants, always, and I mean always, make sure you buy a pair with vertical stripes and not horizontal. Vertical stripes make you look slimmer and taller.

P.S For those of you visiting, going to visit or live in New York City the High Line offers free stargazing every Tuesday night from 7:30pm. You can gaze at the stars, planets, and moon through the high-powered telescopes of the Amateur Astronomers Association, and chat with the experts about the sights you see. Pretty cool I’d say.

Aaaah can I just say how excited I am… I leave for New York in exactly one week’s time!!! The city whose “streets will make you feel brand new, big lights will inspire you.” I’m so nervous and excited at the same time 😀
Any way back to fashion 🙂 There are a few key pieces you can never go wrong with and owning a well fitted and comfortable pair of jeans is one of them. They a timeless item you can either dress up or dress down.
Finding a decent fit for your figure is a must. I do enjoy myself a pair of “le jean slim”- otherwise known as skinny jeans- rolled up, to flaunt the ankles with a beautiful pair of boots or heels.
A great pair of jeans is indispensable.
