I’m currently sitting in one of my favourite London coffee shops, Clerkenwell Grind, putting this post together before having to rush off to the airport for a few days of work in Portugal. I had the most magical time road tripping through Portugal last year so I am excited to see what the country has in store for me this time around.
Ever heard of the Chaos Theory? Well it basically states that every single decade now influences our current sartorial choices. The 70’s are a trend but so are the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s.
My look in today’s post was definitely inspired by a little 70’s courtesy of my canary yellow flared trousers and aviator sunglasses, with a touch of 90’s thanks to my beaded sweetie bag and Nike Air Max 95’s. Chaos Theory.
Speaking of beaded bags, I’m so into my new one from Mango! It reminds me of my childhood days – mini plastic or beaded handbags filled with handfuls of sweets, my mom’s leftover lip ice and perhaps a Puppy in my Pocket or two. Now my beaded bag is home to my iPhone, a pack of gum and a Chanel powder palette. I guess that mean’s I’m a grown up now.

I couldn’t be happier with the latest fashion trends that have emerged from fashion week’s around the world. Miss-match prints, overtly bright colours and bold I don’t give a damn cuts, my inner child is squealing with delight.
I first started noticing this shift in trends during Copenhagen Fashion Week (CFW), no minimal scandi designs but rather a delightful array of bright pinks and greens teamed with Havaianas (yes, they having a comeback folks!) or sleek cowboy boots. Anything went at CFW.
I remember having a conversation a few months back where someone asked me what my style was and to be honest, I’ve never really had one. I dress how I feel when I wake up in the mornings and tend to enjoy flowing with the trends. However, with that being said I’ve always felt this desire to dress like the 5 year old girls I see in the playground when I walk my dog. Carefree, miss-match prints paired with a tulle skirt and a pair of bunny ears because why the hell not. CFW was a sophisticated version of that 5 year old girl.
So this weekend, in honour of my inner child, I decided to wear all the leopard print, my brightly coloured socks and baggy overalls leaving room for a cinnamon bun (or two). Here’s to my 5 year old self.
