Two night’s ago I watched The Talented Mr.Ripley for the first time and instantly fell in love. Why has no body suggested this film to me before? From sun-drenched fashion amidst blue sparkling waters to tailored perfection in the cobbled streets of Rome, an effortless marriage of Italian style. Major La Dolca Vita feels.
Sure Matt Damon and Jude Law offer a perfect balance of eye candy but it was the fashion that had me dreaming of Italian coastlines. It’s no wonder the film was nominated for Best Costume Design.
I highly regret not knowing the film was an adaption of Patricia Highsmith’s novel, The.Talented Mr.Ripley, as I think the book would be a true ‘keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat’ sort of psychological thriller.
Feeling inspired I complied a style guide of some of my favourite looks from the film, perfect inspiration for your next Summer vacation, which after watching the film will have you scanning airlines for the next flight to Amalfi Italy or somewhere along the French Riviera.
Ah, the sweet life…
Yay so I’m finally back online after a month of silence thanks to final year exams. All I wanted to do this weekend, after weeks of studying, was to curl up in my down duvet and watch back to back episodes of Game of Thrones. (Yes I waited for the whole of season five to be released before watching… I wasn’t falling for HBO’s nasty suspense tricks again.)
My favourite weekend outfits either include dungarees or boyfriend jeans and a comfy knit. I fell in love with this ivory off the shoulder knit from EXPRESS, perfect fit for my weekend wardrobe. It shows just the right amount of shoulder for the right amount of sexiness. Best part is I can dress it up too, just add a pair of heels and skinny leg trousers.
Oh and FYI, till tomorrow (15th & 16th June) EXPRESS are offering a “Buy One Get One Free” deal, best part about this special? There’s nine other stores that have joined in on this once in a lifetime sale: River Island, Calvin Klein (excludes purchases on any underwear, fragrance and sunglasses), Vince Camuto (boots only), Jigsaw (kids clothing only), Dune, Lucky Brand, Tom Tailor, Salsa and Lipsy!
Customers shopping at the flagship stores all around South Africa will be able to take advantage of this incredible offer and save half of their purchase price for every two items bought! How’s that for a bargain!?
I got myself two amazing knits and two pairs of leather goodness from Vince Camuto, what you going to get?
This past week has been a complete whirlwind of meetings, TV shows, shooting, a quick two day trip to Jozi and the start of a secret project I’ll be launching soon. Why does everything always have to happen at once?
Owing a decent backpack is always a must, especially for those days when you constantly on the move. Whenever I go overseas for modelling one of the first things that gets packed into my luggage is a trusty, black backpack. One that is big enough to hold my portfolio, a pair of heels, a water bottle, some snacks and all my other handbag bits n bobs. Walking around London/New York from 8am till 8pm with a handbag over one shoulder is not only uncomfortable but also causes damage to your back. The same goes for when you site seeing.
Calvin Klein at the V&A Waterfront have special offer on this weekend where you can get R500 of the purchase of any handbag or backpack for women or men. So if you in a shopping kind of mood you know where to go…

We’ve been transported back to the 90’s with the “sandal of the season”… the Birkenstock. Kate Moss first showed us how to rock it and now almost every designer and department store are having a run at interpreting it, from Zara to Céline.
Love them or hate them these babies are your must have Summer sandal. There’s something chic about their simple design. I currently own three and I’m already eyeing out my forth.
Dressy or casual, sporty or relaxed the Birkenstock works for any outfit. All you gotta do is find you style, your colour and your fit. Personally I’m a huge fan of the white Arizona’s, but that’s just me.
Have you been consumed by this Summer trend?
