Today we celebrating local design duo Keith Henning and Jody Paulsen, also know as AKJP. Apart from designing their own clothing line, Keith Henning and Jody Paulsen also own the AKJP Collective. A concept store in Cape Town brought to you to showcase local SA design at its best.
The duo was one of three local South African designers to be selected as one of the finalists in the Who Is On Next? Dubai scouting project launched by Vogue Italia and dedicating to discovering design talent from the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
I recently attended AKJP’s AW’16 fashion show and opted to wear something from the designers themselves. A shirt dress (which I actually think is a longer length tee from the guys section) from one of their previous collections. I wanted an overall athleisure look so teamed the tee with the new “it” sneaker from adidas Originals, the NMD’s, and knotted hair instead of boxer braids. My final touch was my dark lip, Plum and Base, courtesy of Catrice.
With the duo making waves in the design industry both locally and abroad I think we can expect some extraordinary things from Keith Henning and Jody Paulsen.

A feminine style that is built with detailing and fabrics, the Victorian trend is everywhere. From the pussy-bow blouse’s from Gucci to the slip dresses from Alexander McQueen. Think multiple ruffles, light silks and sheer lace.
I opted for a more muted and modern version of the Victorian trend: a ruffled blouse, pair of vintage denims, a cute pair of pointed ankle boots from SLY010 and a bag that’s something between Victorian and Western.

My 10 day style diary with Glamour Magazine:
“Emma Jane Menteath, international model, travel and style enthusiast, and the face behind My Life In Pink. Her interest in fashion started while modelling around the world and her blog is a culmination of those experiences, from the catwalks in New York to the glossy pages of elite fashion magazines. “I have always loved dressing up,” says Emma. “As a kid I used to have a dress up box filled with party costumes and bits and pieces of my mom’s old clothing. It used to keep me entertained for hours!” Emma loves styling outfits that make her feel a certain way or express her emotions. Her blog has become a great means for her to share her creative ideas with people.”

There’s nothing quite like a pair of denims that fit you just right, a pair that accentuates in all the right places. Ladies you’ll know what I’m talking about.
Over the past two years I’ve developed such a love for denim that it’s pretty much become a part of my every day to day life. So why denim?
Denim has to be the easiest fashion item to play around with. Dress them up with pair of heels and add some statement jewellery, crisp white shirt and a pair of pumps for work and hey let’s not forget the ever so popular jeans and tee combo.
In celebration of denim and all things festive River Island, along with other international brands such as Calvin Klein, Jigsaw, Dune London and Tom Tailor to name a few, are handing out little red booklets loaded with vouchers which can be used REPEATEDLY until the 24th December at all standalone flagship stores. Your very own Festive Fashion Passport filled with amazing savings to keep you smiling this holiday session.
A good excuse to buy another pair of denims, because let’s be frank, one can never have too many pairs.
